Why is there a delay before material goes live?
All material that is submitted to BENEFUL DogSpace is screened for inappropriate content. This means that there is a slight delay before your material goes live. This delay may be longer during peak load times but every effort will be made to respond quickly. Note that this screening does not apply to 'Send a Message' or 'Forward to Friend' emails.
Tips for prompt BENEFUL DogSpace approvals.
To make sure that your details get through the screening process smoothly, the following will help. Photos should be dog focused, and they should not be offensive, or seen to be overt promotion of any particular product or service. Your text should not contain any inappropriate language or references. You should not include personal information in the text of your blogs e.g. phone numbers, home address or your children's school, nor should it contain weblinks...
I've forgotten my password.
It happens to all of us. To retrieve your password, go to the 'Owner Login' panel in the top right of the Home page. Click on 'Forgot your password'. Enter the email address that you used for your registration and click 'Request password'. Your password will be sent to your email address and you can get back to enjoying BENEFUL DogSpace.
I'm having difficulties logging in.
There are some common issues that occur in the login process. Here is a short check-list that may help. Check that your email address is correct. Check that the password doesn't have extra spaces e.g. before or after the password. Check that the password is accurate, it is case-sensitive. Check that you haven't confused numbers and letters e.g. number 0 and letter O, number 1 and letter l, number 5 and letter S. Remember that you may have changed your password manually, so the password you received originally would be out-dated.
How do I add another dog?
This is easy. Once you've logged in, go to the 'Manage my Profile' page, then go to the Dog's Admin section and click 'Add new Space'. You will be able to enter your next dog's details in the same manner as you did for the first one.
How do I find other dogs that aren't on the front page.
The search function in BENEFUL DogSpace is an important way to meet interesting dogs. You can search by name, breed, location, owners name and much more - even the dog's favourite song! Use this tool to explore through the dogs on the site and expand your circle of friends.
How is Dog of the Month chosen?
From February 2007 onwards, Dog of the Month will be the dog which is given the most bones in that month. See the Terms and Conditions for more details.
How do I change my and/or my dog details?
If you need to change any details after you've registered, just go to 'Manage my Profile'. Click on 'My Details' in the top left-hand panel to change your personal details. Click on 'Edit' in 'Dog's Admin' to change your dog's details. Remember that all updates are screened for inappropriate material so there will be a slight delay before it goes live.
How do I blog?
Once you've got your dog's profile page up, it's time to start blogging. Go to 'Manage my Profile' and click 'Blog' in the Dog's Admin section. You can enter as many blogs as you like; tell the world all about life, as your dog experiences it. Remember that there may be a slight delay before your latest blog goes live; we screen all viewable content to guard against inappropriate material.
How do I read my messages?
If you've received an email alerting you of a message that has been sent to your dog/s, you can view it on your 'Manage my Profile' page, in the 'Messages' section. Click on the message to see it in full.
How do I upload a picture of my dog on the Registration page?
Simply click on the �Browse� button and you'll get a window that allows you to select an image or multiple images from your computer. Then just look through your image files until you locate the ones you want.
